I got to setup the Aurora II 10m but not enough wind to fly (maybe 5-6 mph). Did start to launch during gust of 7-8 mph!!! Did get to check bridles and they looked ok to me -- nothing seemed crossed! Also got to check out my mutant bar with 18m lines and sfr system. Hopefully soon in the air!!! Still problems with picture uploads -- for those interested kite seems well built to me ---but what do I know?

Got to fly the Aurora II 10m at the beach in 8-10 mph.

Used the downwind launch method with sand on wingtip.

Took my time allowing it to inflate and no problems with take-off. Shook kite right to left to finalize the inflation.

Kite takes to zenith very well - and stays at zenith very surprisingly!

Noticed 2 things immediately.

First, with equal lines (18m) and at full power, the kite REALLY backstalls when bar pulled in. Had to completely trim depower (about 8 inches) to even have a chance of not braking back into full stall. Then I had to have bar about another 8 inches away from CL to show good flying characteristics. Still have to shorten front lines, or lengthen back lines, for good flying. Comments appreciated!!

Second, it appeared that the outside/brake lines bridles were just hanging loose - those attached to the rear of the kite. Even when turning the kite. Seems odd and possible just my angle - no one else around. Comments please!

Still trying to upload pics with no luck. Can't figure it out. Usually no problem.

On a foil kite the rear lines/brake lines carry very little load, so yes, they do tend to look like they are loose with no control input.

How did you finally connect your bar to your kite?

Hi airsail. Thank you. Helps to know that!

Hi Kykeon. Thanks for question. I set up the kite leaders with knots on outside leaders and loops on front leaders. That way all my bars would fit. No extra lengths added to length of lines. I had one extra knot further out on bar leaders which I'll try next time.

I should add that I would recommend this kite especially at the discounted price. At this point it is a great first foil kite, seems well made, basically flew right out of the bag, and can see possibly buying others for hydrofoiling. I'm sure I just need more time with it!

Thinking of getting a mountain board! Don't tell the wife!!!

I got the 22m Aurora II early last year. It flew right out of the bag and was definitely a session savor for me several times.

Ordered a 12 mtr Aurora 2 in ultralite cloth 10 days ago. Email came back quickly saying that they were out of blue cloth, would I be happy with a combination of red and white? No problems and the order was placed.
Just had an email saying the kite had been shipped. So far pretty good service.

Looking at Pansh site. Still 1/2 off prices so maybe Aurora II 15m. Still trying to figure if that's best step up--maybe for minimum of about 8-9mph kiting. Also, new videos there using the 10m so good to see in action!

Please,PLEASE keep us informed on your thoughts with this kite.
Also if you are really a maniac take some bridle measures for future reference and to control factory work, as I have seen other places on line but never sure if these
are up to date.
May I suggest already using a longer bar to provide more steering line throw, and maybe longer lines for more loop window.
Also know a close friend who has a 12m2 Aurora 2 in normal cloth and promise to relay his findings.

Hi revhead,
The kite is currently clearing customs in Sydney, may not get much use in the near future as we have a stack of wind forecast. This is my third foil kite so I can't see many problems that can't be worked out. Already have plans for an adjustable mixer as I like to adjust to my personal preference, eg a kite that sits deeper in the window.
Yes, I note there are no bridle lengths posted online like flysurfer does, I'll measure them before the first use.
