Hard to say , i did not try the speed5 . But the friend who bought the pulsion 12 last month with new 32gr cloth porcher is riding in a lake with very irregular winds. I can ask him as he knows speed4 speed5 and sonic.
I would bet its good stability will remain a goog point. On tge other hand since it is a very powerful kite i suppose high wind gust can appear a bit violent in the harness (but i did not notice it personnally for now)

Regis - how does the 15 compare to the 12? Is 15 noticeably slower turning? How about power delivery? Can you go about 2 knots less on 15 vs. 12?

Well, only one session is poor to be 100 % sure but here are my first (and guessable) feelings:
- it flies (even ...) a bit earlier, so add a confort in that sense in case of lull
- turn slower, obvisouly ; but still very goo for its size like the 12m is. So still fun , faster than 12m ( bit higher AR) but less prone to wave riding on a foil IMO
- so the better ability to stay in the air is a bit compensated by the largert turning radius when you need to recover from a kite which is on the edge of the window : Stays better in the air but in case of sudden lulls, the recovery downloop needs to be initiated higher
- the power is clearly higher in water start : I did not need a loop to water start in poor winds where I would have need one or two with the 12m
- still very good stability with slack lines, useful for me when my transitions are not perfect : kite stops going forward and wait for you to turn direction with the hydrofoil to retention the line (you can see this once in the video at 0:45 and 1:31 (even Leading Edge downward :thumb: )

So in summary : wonderful rides in almost no wind but less polyvalent (than the Pulsion 12m but still better than otherfoil 15m kites IMO).

Ah and for the gain in low end: In my case even with the 12m I am close to the flight limit of the kite in the air, so I do not gain so much ( maybe 1 knot, maybe half). Now for a heavier rider, the low-end will decrease more significantly, but hard to say from my poor 62 kg.

You will be happy ...
You will find herebelow the "Stability report" of a friend
who has bought a pulsion 12m light and then the prototype with new porcher cloth to improve relaunch (the prototype I spoke on above message with the latest skytex 32gr from Porcher , quite similar to Lotus cloth).
It is a skilled foiler knowing well foilkites from years and years, specialist of light winds in gusty /irregular winds. In french sorry but I make a sum-up in english just after.

Quick summary for non-french speakers :
"
- I went on purpose in the area of the lake where the wind is the most irregular to test its relaunch.
- The pulsion is so stable that I had to fight hard several times on purpose to put it finally in the water.
- the best kite ever on this stability
- wind meter on the ground was oscillating between 1.2 and 8 knots
- his FS speed4 Lotus (that he uses several times per week for years), would have done a lot of fronstall instabilities , but none with the Pulsion , even trying to do some on purpose. The Pulsion is superior on this point with a kind of auto-management.
- no other kite he knows would have stayed in the air even its loved legendary speed4 dlx 10m.
- even when the wind led to slack lines , it glided properly and stayed as a rock.
- this cloth improves the relaunchability after a long stay in the water. Like the Lotus. Seem to need a bit more wind compared to the skytex 27gr, but to be confirmed in more steady winds.
- a wonderful toy to play and foil in tricky conditions
.
"

Well ... good report on the stability therefore, knowing that he (like me again) have nothing to sell or deal ...

Another friend on lezfoils (Balboxl , 62 kg) just reported a snowkite session up to 15 knots with the Pulsion 15m on icy snow... he was overpowered in 15 knots (guessable...) but still stable on this high end.

Hope this will help.

This evening I used the pulsion 15m with a turbo bar (2 : 1 pulley bar that increases the depower and agility but doubles the bar pressure). Wind was expected to 5 knots but in the end it was clother to 6-8 knot (still zero white foam). Loved this session, smooth and no kite instability, a lot of power ! My sweet spot will be 7 knots with this kite.

Thanks to the amazing drift and stability of the Pulsion, I did some what-I-call "slack-jibes" very useful in light winds and/or for "unsure" jibes : carve with slack lines that are retensioned in the end of the carving ; in detail : keep straight, downloop the kite entirely (180 degrees), then start the downwind curve, as tight as possible. All 4 lines get fully slack because of the speed of the hydrofoil, but the Pulsion stays solid and moveless as if you had put "pause" on your dvd player, then do the complete 180 degree carving without kite power, up to get up-wind again with the inertia only, which will in the end retension the lines and pursue the dream ride. Nothing technical (on the contrary ...) while very useful to jibe in low winds.

Next time i will however go back to a standard bar because even if I loved the quicker turning and depower, during my long switch (fakie) rides, my weak back arm suffered from this doubled bar pressure and i was not able to drive the kite correctly when switch ride.

I also tested almost back to back with the 12m and the power difference is huge (and therefore speed in 6 knots).

We are now about 6-7 people that i know having the Pulsion and loving it in different fields (Hydrofoil, school with light wind accessible for beginners, TT, MTB and snowkite)

One of them (60 kg, expert rider in TT and MTB, no hydrofoil ) is selling his Pulsion 15m, loved it , PM me if interested.

I made another 2.5 hour session in 5-7 knots then 8-11 knots ; it is so great to cross glassy areas at high speeds ... and I was in confidence enough to pursue my learning curves on jibes in light winds with loops; another hydrofoil was on the water with a chrono 11 m during one hour ( but he had to fight) , and came to me in the end to see the kite and note the reference of the Pulsion that he did not know ...

I can only recommend it to the people loving the hydrofoil in extreme light wind or waves but still minimizing the risk to swim back to shore (however the kite maybe difficult to roll in the water if you have to ) ; its behaviour is very forgiving and closer to an inflatable LEI compared to race foil kite, so a very good first foilkite as well IMO.

I am thrilled to test it with a TT.

Did you already test the lowend with your TT? Really interested as I'm exactly the same weight as you are. Not sure if I should go for a 12 or 15 Pulsion. 15 I think would be perfect with my large TT, 12 would be perfect with my FW Evo.

I did not test it with a TT personnaly (yet) ; but generally speaking with a TT you need power, and light wind is far more fun if your legs burn ... so 15m with no hesitation (I had loved my 22m Aurora in light winds); here are the various feedback I got :
- An excellent light weight ( 60 kg) rider owns one and used it only in TT; with its excellent level in freestyle and jumps he loves riding very over-powered; his range of use for the Pulsion 15m is 8-25 knots ; big jumps and kite loops in 10 knots. low end similar to a speed 4 18m.
- he made it try to a 70-75 kg guy who was able to stay upwind at about 9 knots with a big TT
- another guy was not able to stay upwind with 85 kg and 6-8 knots , but with any big foil kite and a no-volume directional (150 * 45) , it was a bit optimistic we can admit ...
