Not sure the bar from concept air is the best if it is your question. Most of the pulsion sold in France that I know were witout bar. If its trim lenght is long enough (say above 20cm to fix idea, but next time I will measure accurately what is the trim requirement for your service :thumb: ), it will fly using the whole trim in marginal wind, which IMO is not a problem at all.

Just a few impressions from todays 18 m Pulsion session. Was blowing gusty wind across the lake 4-15 kts. I took shorter, 18m lines and got much better control in gusts.

I put largest Zeeko front foil:Carver-wing. It has a lot of surface that limits max speed to app. 20 Kts limiting true windspeed for the kite as well.

Shorter lines delay my starts by 1-2 kts, but low limit remained the same when up and foiling. I can wait 3 min for 2 kts more wind.

There were enough luls to experiment with
new ways to keep the kite flying longer.
I put my foil in a position developed by Gunnar for dragging the foil through the shorebreak (https://youtu.be/shOrYjUMYpI), and steer upwind as much as I can.

My speed went above 1 knot, added to windspeed and kept kite high with decent line tension. More effective than just flying or looping the kite. And may bring you closer to the spot as well, but may not work on bigger swell/waves.

Thanks to share your hyper light wind tricks.

Here is a video in very light wind this summer when all lines went often slack ... and indeed it was actually hard to get away from shore, I used the "surfer technique" ; I bet it would have impossible with another kite ; I had to fight and hope, but in the end ...

That was impressive.

As it stays in the air with even less wind than the 12m, as you can see in the video, I just decided to push the experience ahead and test the experience of the pulsion 18m to see if I can save some precious mini-Knots.
So i'll sell my 15m beforehand to finance it. Is there any dedicated second hand chapter in this forum ?

A video made by a friend of mine during my session on Satursday in France, with really light wind (say 3-5 knots) (my Pulsion is the white kite on the right, sorry for the poor quality youtube compression at the first seconds of the video)

Video was made at 15h38 on his phone, while winds-up reported the following figures :

I was testing an exagerated camber on the Pulsion (beyond standard setting knots), which brought more agility, but not really lower end and a bit more instabilities / pilot skills in the start turbulent zone.

The day after I was able to test it with higher winds at 12 knots (still 28m lines, I switched to low camber setting , requires less than 5 seconds per side) ; it was viril , gave a lot of speed for the 800 cm2 foil; In thoses winds I prefer to play with a 12m shorter lines or even 9m , but there was still a bit of high end reserve , safety .

I made a high wind session on monday with the pulsion 15m and very large foil 1200 cm2 ; interesting because I was in my light wind configuration , i.e. quite high camber + 28m lines ; wind was not steady and off-shore then side-off ; I had not my 12m with me so I used the 15m;

At the end the wind was average 13-14 knots, with regular gusts up to 17 knots according to windfinder ; I was still able to ride with pleaseure, just avoiding 90 degree rides; a friend of mine, 20 kg heavier than me, better skilled than me but veryu race oriented, had to change-out its race kite 15m , to powered.

so with 14-16 knots, it was still comfortable but more technical (low end is about 4-5 knot); I stopped after 2h30 ride, only due to personnal planning issues, but this session was still pleasant, so there is still up-end margin ( i mean to come back to shore safely) ; 12m or even 9m would have been funnier, but 15m was still suitable.

Here is a short video in light wind together with a flysurfer vmg 21m trying to ride.
I have longer lines , smaller kite, smaller hydrofoil (550 cm2) , and about 20 kg less weight.

Very impressive. I have the 18 and 12 Pulsion. I haven’t tried that technique yet.

Being stuck in my house because of surgery recovery, i pursue editing the video of monthes ago ...
Here is a "race" with a sail boat and a motor boat in 7 knots of wind. Just for fun, last august 2018.
