Hi Martin,

There is quite a difference in low end between an 11m Enduro and a 12m Hyperlink. The Hyperlink has more projected area so it is closer to the lowend of the 14m EnduroV2. Add to that the small packing size and weight and it will work out a lot better for traveling with than a 15m Tube kite.

I'll just add that yes, HL will be slower, but mainly quite different to your Enduros. It is something to get used to. I fly HL 12 with 60cm bar and strongly recommend it. It helps to have a good trim (depower) set up on the bar as well. I don't fly it with longer than 20m lines to keep responsiveness/feel crispier. If you need a compact kite for travel, I'd not hesitate and get one. It packs small and light

Cheers mates, I'll get that 12 with 20m Lines plus 5m Extensions. Below that I'll change from 12/9/7 to 11/8/6 Enduros. In the End I'll have a windrange of 6/8/11 and a 14/15 Tube. Sounds perfect. :thumb:

Recently took delivery of my 12m HL (Standard fabric) having finally decided which size to go for.
Laying the HL side by side to my 12m Chrono V1, the Chrono is about 1.5m longer and easy to see the difference between a high AR foil and mid AR foil.
Looking forward to my first session…

Have had a decent amount of time getting to know the HL, although my sessions with it on the water have been in light winds around 10mph (I’m around 90 kg's kg and ride a skim board it was very promising. Clearly being lighter would help when it comes to riding in such winds. The Kite itself is rock solid with launching being a doddle (having had much experience in launching Chrono V1’S).
My first test flight was in 5 mph winds, not enough wind for me to kitesurf but plenty of power to be dragged around beach, when flying through the power zone.
Hope to get another session in over the next couple of days.
Just to add, I have my 18m Chrono V1 for light winds, so the 12m HL "for me" I wouldn't class it as a light wind foil kite at this point in time.

I bought a 9m HL UL and had it out only once in its lower end 10-12 knots on Hydrofoil. I had the rear lines incorrectly on the longest knot. 25 m lines. It was amazing for me as first time foil kite flyer, but kiting lei for 16 years. The smoothness of the power is remarkable.

Then I went out in 8-10 knots and even though I got up with loops and extra effort, , wind was dieing so I came in. Didn't want to swim. Rear lines were still wrong... It was no problem keeping it in the air, just not enough power.
Im wondering if the 5cm difference on rear line length, and additional overall 3m of line length ( to 28m) would get me going in 8-10.. What do you think?

Was so impressed I started thinking immediately about getting bigger foil kite. But am very sceptical to benefit /cost ratio.
You have more experience, what would you recommend as next kite up in size for 6-12 knot Hydrofoiling?
A local here says absolutely no bigger than 13m, and a racier design will give more power per m2, so might even work with an 11m.
I might find something used...
Famousfrank uses a 9m HL then jumps to a big 15m R1V2 on short lines....
Kinda makes sense to me. Run my 9 on 20 -25m lines, and a bigger foil kite on 20m or less..

Kites i could choose would be HL UL 12, Chronos 2/3 13m or Flysurfer Soul 12m.

That said, probably better to get the big Moses 633 wing/fuse/stab setup - cheaper for sure...
