R1V2 wing sides collapsing

I just got a brand new R1V2 15M and the wing sides don't seem to inflate properly after launching the kite. When the kite is up in the air the sides keep collapsing. Any similar experiences? Any advises to fix this problem? Thank you.

Reach up and pull the steering lines, give it a good jiggle side to side.

I'm sorry if this seems offensive, but do you have any foil kite experience or is this your first time?

If you're a seasoned foil kiter reporting this issue it's like that your bridle or mixer needs a quick tuning check. If you're just learning for the first time, it's a user issue...oversheet the kite and inflate it vertically at the edge of the window like shown in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leuWAIKJqVk

If you're reusing an older bar with the kite and haven't checked your bar tune, you should also do so to verify all 4 of your lines are equal length when the trimmer is fully released and the bar is held against the chicken loop. Many foil kiters, myself included, tune their front lines to be a bit longer than their rear lines so that at full power you can oversheet the kite and slow it down and/or prevent it from overflying the window. 1-1.5" should be a sufficient amount of backstall to induce in the bar.

To be fair the ozone foil kites are know to do this. Its a case of flying the kite right alot of the time. These high aspect race kites dont like to sit around doing nothing. Though some do better than others. Sonics can fold on launch but once inflated they are very stable. Ive not seen Fone diablos do it at all.

my V1 Diablo's tip folds in at launch some times. I do what Kami said, pull steering lines hard from side to side a few times and its good to go...

Had the exact same issue on my R1v1 when I was first learning to fly it. As other said, pull the rear lines with some force or shake the bar hard left and right.

If it's a new kite and you are launching it properly, the V2 should not be collapsing the wingtips after it's fully inflated.

If the tips still collapse after the kite is fully inflated, then extend the KR1 about 2cm. Do this by moving the Knot holding KR1 (yellow lines) up towards the kite by 2cm. This should stabilise the tips. However you should not need to do this on a brand new kite.

Pre-inflation really helps before launching.
Remember these are high performance closed call foils with many cells that need to be inflated, just a question of practice. Pulling the brake line handle when the kite is in flight will help to inflate the wing tips but does requires subtle inputs. Practicing in lighter winds first will help.
All the best.

If the kite's not fully inflated and the tips flop in, that's expected. Use a lot of brake to launch, or pre inflate.
