Once the wind speed goes below riding speed and you are in the water keep the kite directly overhead, depower the kite fully with the power strap. If the wind allows fly it back and forth. If the kite starts to fly forward over your head pull the bar down. If the kite starts to backstall reach up and grab the centerline depower strap(above the bar) and pull in release and pull in again. Keep pumping the kite with long pulls and it will usually refly. The biggest danger is the kite loosing its shape so if one side or the other folds in pull the bar down. The kite will usually spread and start to backstall. Just pump the kite back up in the air with long pulls on the center line depower strap as mentioned. Slowly proceed to shore.

You can use the centerline pull when riding in light winds. If the kite backstalls while riding reach up and pull in the center line at the power strap and the kite will fly straight up and you are off riding again.

^ that's a good point, foil kites can recover from stuff that looks really bad when you're coming from an LEI background if you know the little tricks.

Same trick works for LEIs.
Several times I did it while keeping the ride. Can save you from lulls.
