@ andylc – If your happy with your V2 (s) then probably no need to upgrade.
The V3 looks to be the result of further refinements and as to whether the enhancements are significant enough to warrant you to sell your V2 in favour of a V3, is a very good question.
The V3 remains as a high performance foil kite, improved stability ETC.
My V1’s work a treat and not looking to change them.

Got Chrono V3 UL 13m. Simply amazing. I ride mostly in continental gusty winds and this kite does everything I need. Stays in the air with almost no wind. Relaunch is extremely great, dropped it multiple times - zero swims. Performance is close to a race kite. Eats gusts like no other performance kite. Jumps to the moon. Bar is simply great. Got custom all black color - looks amazing in the air and dries fast. Very happy with the purchase. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking performance in the user friendly package.

Hej WH,

When will the 13UL kite not fly and drop down ? and whats your top end on hydrofoil ?

I´d love to get a 13 UL for local hydrofoiling, and a smaller foil kite like a 7 or 6 for below my 9m Hyperline UL for travelling. (Tons of money though)

Im riding the skimboard in above post.

I think the 9m is a awesome kite. Tested the 9m Hyperlink as well, but I feel the Chrono V3 turns even faster and has more speed. Power delivery is very very smooth. Very stable, easy relaunch.

It gets me out in unbelievably little wind, and it is only a 9m. I sold my 15m Speed 4, because I just do not need it, it added very little to the usable bottom end, especially turning so slowly.

Have sorted out the pre-inflation and launching technique so wingtips do not fold while launching anymore.

@PrfctChaos – I share the same opinion albeit my comparison is with the 12m HL and my 12m Chrono V1. This being the difference between a high AR and a mid-AR foil. Once you get use to a high performance foil kite anything less is immediately noticeable. The HL does what’s it’s designed to do, launching is super easy and inflates completely for me well before reaching the top of the wind window.
I was looking for a less racy kite (Freeride kite) to use from time to time but I need a decent session with my 12m HL before I decide what to do.

It flies in almost no wind. It still hangs while you can't even get up on foil anymore.

Top end is hard to say really. I would say max 20 knots or something, but then I need to edge hard or go downwing at a high angle.

I'm not convinced with smaller foil kites, I think inflatable wave kites below 10m2 is what I need for stronger winds as I can also use it for kitesurfing in waves.

Interesting discussion for me as new foil kiter.
I've only flown the hyperlink 9 UL. Today was constant 14 knots and it was magic for me. Out 2 hours.
Last 7 sessions in a row on the hyperlink...
I don't see need for bigger one really because winds 8 -10 knots here are having deep lulls. Like today was 10-12 knots, but then a sea breeze helped increase it.

I have 5m Reo and 7m -9-12 North Mono. Keeping those for waveboard.

I guess biggest negative with smaller foil in 7m size is the launch and landing ???
