Just picked up my 12 mtr Soul, no FDS connections? I’m used to using FDS during self landing in stronger winds, FLS has always been a bit of a pain to use in upper wind ranges.
How does the FLS perform on the Soul during self landing? Should I fit a FDS system, my bar is already set up for FDS.

You could attach FDS to bridles near center.

Anyone switched from the Sonic 2 and regretted it?
I had sonic 2 15m, 13m,11m
now soul 18 15 12 10
no regrets, i bought a 6 m first, then was so impressed and bought a 10.......then thought i should try the 12........hey then maybe 15.........and why not the 18.........
i returned the 6 , as i use the kites for boosting the 12 is great from 15 into low 20 kts, the 10 will cover 20-30kts.......which is the most we ever get unless its some kind of crappy storm wind.
the kite for hydrofoil freeriding does everything better than the sonic2, and no more swims. I literally relaunched the 18 in deepwater in what felt like 5 kts......i have never seen a foil kite come up in such light wind
the stability of the kite is a marvel!
in the boosting department it equals a sonic2........but you can hold down much more power......while jacked out of my mind in 18kts on 11msonic2 edging hard upwind on hydrofoil, the 12 m soul is comfortable easily able to take over 20 kts and not depowered yet.
the kite is being undermarketed , probably for good reason, as it would scavenge all other sales.
the the range of the kite is huge
all in all from here on forward , unless your racing.........soul
cheers

Hi,
How would rate the low end grunt of the 12m soul.
Comparable to the sonic2 13 or more like sonic2 11m / speed5 12m?
(Projected area of the 12m soul is 9.75m2 / AR 5.55
sonic2 13m 10.8m2 / AR 7.25!
speed5 12m only! 9.5m2 / AR 6.15
my old speed4 12m 10.2m2 / AR 5.8,
that is getting old and soon needs retirement...)
cheers

This is not a perfect comparison as I used Ozone up until the Soul. However my experience is that the low end power of the Soul is slightly better than the low end of a 13m Chrono V2, so definitely comparable to a 13 rather than 11 I’d say. Also being a faster turning kite I find I can work it a bit more in very light winds.

Due to the ability to actively fly the soul a little faster than the Sonic, they are very similar. The Soul is also a little lighter than the Soul which also helps.
Soul is easier to relaunch, is more stable especially in high winds, and just is a more dynamic kite. I’ve been flying foil kites for about a decade now and the Soul is by far my favorite kite line.
Here’s a vid I did mostly showing the build and design differences between the Soul and Sonic. Since then I’ve decided that the only real advantage the Sonic2 has over the Soul is the upwind angle.

I was there for work, during the summer you have good thermals but for the most part the wind is pretty light there. Enough to hydrofoil everyday though.

Hi guys I have just bought a soul 15m. I haven’t used it yet as winds too high right now which is the most useable kite in the soul series? I am worried after reading everything I should maybe have gone for the 12m and not the 15 if they had done a 13m I would definitely have bought that but as they didn’t and have a 11m tube I thought 15 would be better?
Every one seems to be ranting about the 12m though and not much rant of the 15. Should I return it and see if they will exchange it for a 12m they are so dear really want to get use from it and have fun. Is the 12m more fun?
