Video of Daniela Moroz waterstarting in light wind with a foil kite on short lines. Notice at :27 she reaches way up to pull her steering line while leaving the bar sheeted out. Thought this was a pretty good demonstration of a very technical waterstart.

Yes, get your point. Had not thought of that.
Even 11m lines on a 21 is no problem when downloop-gybing (forgot my "longer" 13m lines one day)

But looping to waterstart is of no use then, you need to loop it so tight that you don't get any power out of the loop. Stalling it into the power zone and letting the kite fly through it in a straight line is the way to go!
