You must be talking about the earliest single skin paragliders long before FS Peak no doubt?

Well the earliest goes back to NASA, with the Nasa para wing or better known as the nasa wing kite.

Think where we would be if the budget from NASA even approached what the military gets...

It is quite a lot different to FS Peak. It doesn't have diagonal oriented ribs, it has more canopy curve and more panels (though panel count is not very comparable). Both have enormous amount of bridle line but that is difficult to avoid due to single skin structure which needs so much support.

Plan view of Explore is a bit more elliptical than of Peaks.

Smallest sizes of Explore have 25 panels, 12m has 27 panels. A bit surprising, kites look very similar and that difference is not big.

Both Explore and Peak have spanwise bridle line, FS calls them "C-straps" Ozone "spanwise bridge lines". Ozone has much more those lines. I know how to avoid them, I think those lines are a bit ugly. Much room for development there in single skin kites.

Wingtips of the Explore look quite good, even though not many pictures or videos show it clearly. It seems to loop well, for sure this kite is nice tool to get uphill and then pack safely if needed.

Interesting. Doesn't look much different than a Peak3 to me. Most of the video looping shows a 6m. If their 12m is faster than my 12m Peak3 and comes in ultralight at a reasonable price, I might have to give it a try for water. There's a Gin Shaman 12m on eBay but from the landboarding forum, I didn't read any critical improvements.

Well Nasa-wing is more a parachute than kite and not good upwind. Norwegian skisails are old and looks&behaves much more like a single skin kite.

This company states developing since 1993. I cannot find information when they really were invented.

Went out landboarding with mine yesterday. Have to say it was a blast. Have not been on a landboard in almost a decade.

Yes right, everybody is copying from each other and also the closed tip cell as the Peak 4 http://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19 ... 62e4a1d576
succesfully uses for more performance has been on the GIN Shaman before.

I was impressed a while ago to see close up a starting paraglider of this type: https://www.skyman.aero/de/gleitschirme ... -race.html
which was showing a really nice clean shape at this high aspect. Showing the potential, even if the pilot said before: In accelaration trim = depower performance still is like a stone as every just single skins.

… in fact he was faster on the bottom of the mountain as I on my muni … but maybe also just lack of my downhill performance :D
