Hi!
I have recently seen some DIY projects for a beginner foil to save some cash on one's first foil.
I also saw the air chair for water skiing.
My question is: if the foil from the Air chair would be an OK solution as a first foil?
Would it work with a waveboard?
This could keep the budget down to about EUR 500 for foil and board.
Thanks for your feedback in advance!

I don't want to ride it sitting down. It's about using the foil for another board such as a wave board to make one's own kiteboarding foil. The question is if the wing is usable?

The wings are what the current hydrofoils evolved from, it is a low aspect wing perfect for low speed and for learning, it will not break when jumped like the carbon fiber. The downside is the weight is so heavy, it will make tilting for water start harder without strap.

I foil with a buddy who has precisely such a set up. He has an air chair aluminium foil mounted to a directional board. Although heavy the rig works, no problem.

Great! This is exactly what I need. A low aspect wing for the beginning. Then I will upgrade mid in the season next year. Thanks for your answers!
