Wow Billie how can you make 1meter cuts cleanly without the wire bending ? What density foam? I use hi load 40. What diameter wire ? I use between .016 and .020 and 24 volts and I seem to max out at 30".

I really want to make a tapered mast but I can't figure out the logistics easily . If I could make 1m cuts then I probably could also use the beds as molds and glass the crap out of them

NO ; i cheated and cut (2) 500mm long pieces.

Tapered is EASY ; but (i) would need 3 templates to do that ,and use the center
one for the middle. The center can be shimmed to match the cradles ; even if your
off .010 , the glass-job will blend it in OK , (with the help of some sand paper).

I mostly wanted to get across to you guys, that the female side of the hot-wire
job , can be used for Quick and dirty molds that are quite accurate.

Bille

Here are the template to an F-35C EDF ; there are 4 of them for this job because i
wanted a 2mm foam skin with a foam center for a spar that's wrapped in 3-oz glass
with carbon caps, but for a hydrofoil Mast, Ya only need 2 templates.

When you place the templates together , the lead-in , and exit of the airfoil should hit
in Exactly the same spot for the center-line of your profile
