What are the symptoms of a mast that isn't stiff enough?

There is a flex and twist test using a 5 kg weight ..
IMO the twist test is more important
It is posted on the French site , and Christof also posted some results of a few masts

When you turn it upside down and "bonk" the stabilizer, how long does it wiggle/yaw until it comes to rest? This is, in my opinion, the greatest weakness of the Sword2, very "twisty" although it's stiffer than a MFer when you load it up properly at speed.

It does have a bit of a wobble when I bonk it. Mayb .75 to 1 second.

Will try that test on my home build. How did they come up with 5kg though? How is 5kg in relation to a person standing on it as well as hydrodynamic forces acting on it?

I guess its just a datum that other foils have been measured against?

I'll measure mine in the next couple of days

Ok. I've done my test.
12mm deflection on the flex test.
8mm deflection on the twist test.

According to that my mast stiffness and twist is good.

Who else has measured their foils against this test?
