Talking with some friends aboutdifferent options for attaching foil mast plates to surfboards. Options include glassing in fin/mast tracks or a various through hull options. Each has pros and cons, with the possibilities for catastrophic failure. I am curious to hear of any first hand reports of ripping out masts and losing foils. EG how often do fin/mast tracks fail and why? Post your nightmare scenario and let us all learn from your pain.
