Finally gave it a shot. Not as easy as it looks. I think it will work but I think it is prudent to start saving for a production board. Hopefully they will be available when I am ready.

The board held up for ten to 15 sessions, including bending the mast. I just couldn't balance on it. It was ok with no chop but I bought a Takuma and like it much better. The one I did with the pour foam is just hanging out as a backup now. The Takuma is like standing on a small dock.

what was wrong with it? Where the mount was? I'm gonna start making some of my own hydrofoil boards.

The thinner nose and tail, less volume on the rails and about 20 liters less total volume than I was used to. A smaller board is more fun when foiling but the paddle back out and standing in choppy water waiting for waves is rough on a smaller tippier board. When moving the foil seems to add stability, but when just spinning to catch a wave with out forward motion every little current underneath pulls the foil every which way.

The mount location is fine, maybe 19 inches from the back of the board to the back of the mast. I did have three washers as shims on the back bolts to get the angle right.
