I go as often as possible. You know me. I am Chris, the guy who learned to foil as a beginner kiter a couple seasons ago on a Liquid Force foil and Cloud kites. Last year i had shoulder surgery but I 'll be there lots this year. I'll reintroduce myself when I see you. :)

I made the carbon skin over my foam core WAY more than 1mm, but I have a very twisty mast.

What direction were the fibers? How many layers of what weight cloth?

Outer layers were twill weave but I also threw in a lot of carbon scrap with the fibers going the length of the mast.

I am no expert but I think if you add some fibers at 45/45 it will help with twist. Hopefully someone with more experience will notice this and give more specific suggestions.
