Postby magillco » Fri Jan 08, 2010 9:53 pm

I am heading to Winter Park, CO to visit the fam next week. Are there any good snowkiting spots around the Winter Park/Fraser area?
Thanks!!

That depends, your family got a sled(snowmobile)? If yes, then you're golden. You've got all sorts of choices. If no, then I'd suggest the south end of lake dillon, it's a easily accessible kite area.

Lake Granby is amazing on a SW wind. Rode it last weekend. Way way better than dillon flatness.

Indeed it is.

I don't know what level people are at so I kind of just recommend dillon bunny hill action. :P

heading out to Winter Park for March/April. Anyone ride in this area aside from driving to Lake Granby/Dillon?

Would love to find a buddy or hear about places to ride!

Hey Mossy, I was just up there last weekend at the in-laws. I've kited NW winds right in town between WP and Frazer on the west side of the highway inside a XC loop. Snow is so-so currently. There is a lot of cool alpine topography unfortunately it's all heavily scoured. Lake Granby is probably the closest sure bet.
