June Snowkite session! We made it through May without having to get wet yet. STILL lots of deep white corn up high near Engineer Pass. Wrench in hand, Old Dave the plow driver was thoroughly disgruntled while putting the front end of his trusty D6 back together. He let us park at the end of the plowed road at 12,000 feet. 6' deep banks of snow next to the truck.

Five of us got out Sunday after using the "last snowkite session of the year" excuse again. We got bluebird skies and lit 12m clean winds. The GPS reported over 10k of vertical and 30 miles of great skiing by late afternoon. The corn was fast and "relatively" forgiving for those failed donkey roll landings. I think the transition to chop on the water will be brutal!

There are lots of rocky patches starting to show up now but surely another week or two of good snow coverage. If you're still jonesing for snowkiting, pack your bags and join us in the San Juans-

They've been getting it on Cottonwood Pass too! (Sawatch mountains). We have had some watery fun on Blue Mesa reservoir, but I'm waxing up the skis again. TB
