I am headed to Austria on a business trip in February. Last year, I stayed in Obertauern and hoped to do some snowkiting, but the snow coverage was sparse and the riding area was full of trees. This year, I thought I would stay near Schladming and try the Dachstein Glacier or other off piste areas around there. Does anyone have any information on snowkiting there? I would love to meet up with locals if possible. I have been kiting for 15 years. I will be bringing 6, 9, 12 Flysurfer Peak 2 Kites. I will also bring a touring setup and beacon, shovel, probe, etc. with me so I can ride off piste. I have experience riding in the backcountry in the US. I will also have a car.
Thanks,
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
Have just read your post on snowkiting on the Dachstein glacier. Just wondered if you actually went and if so could you pass on any tips or recommendations about the area, if you have the time. I am thinking of going next feb17.
Many thanks
Ian
