Hey guys this is pretty epic info. Really appreciate it. I am not sure if I will actually end up buying all of it this year. Maybe just the boots and then rent skis to test out a few different configurations.
The Icelantic ones also looks killer.

Just got back from Whistler and an epic week of initially sun and beautifully groomed slopes, followed by massive snow dumps and deep powder. My Icelantic Nomad 105s, now in their 11th year, still feel aaawwesome!! Been a while since I snow kited with them though, sadly...

Your boots are the most important piece of equipment and nothing else matters if your boot isn't the right flex and fit. You could have the best skis in the world but without a good boot, you will never get the full performance out of them. Your boots are the interface between you and your ski. So few people recognize this.

If you are traveling, demo/rent skis. A) easier, don't have to haul skis. B) the skis will likely be the best suited for that particular region. C) You get to try a wide range and decide what you like or don't.

I think you're on the right path with investing in a boot. :thumb:

Good to hear...I kind of picked up on that both from your link and from my local shop.
Loved the wite-up. Lots of info, some of which I had managed to piece together from a lot of sources, but nothing as concise.
