Blade 2013 9m Trigger

I've had good time with this kite.
This kite favors a rider looking for all conditions traction as reactive as a formula race car.
Some one who visualizes power strokes, acrobatics and hot landings in their daydreams.
This is one heck of a flyers kite and makes me smile every time I throw it in the air

The Unibar/Trigger kit is strong, refined and very powerful.
Super easy to set up and tune to the style or conditions.
Self launch tether style, rotational or back fly...the wings dynamic shaping makes it easy.
The moment wind fills the wing, a feeling of superb control is transferred to the rider.
De-powered and sheeted out, it flys with minimal traction quickly to the edge.
Flawless tracking and drift, precise directional and depower control.
The relaunch on water is reliable and the kite is swift to get into ready position.
The geometry and dimensions of this beautiful mid-pivot wing become apparent with use.
Reactive traction throughout the precise range of sheeting,
along with effective micro-adjustment of traction during the hotttest of flight patterns...
and a traction so fast and powerful that it feels like a black hole.
This is what really stands out for me with the 2013 Trigger.
This super clean, narrow and light weight 8-10 psi airframe
is highly stable through a massive range of gusts, lulls and rotors.
Steering line pressure is perfect IMO,
Light enough for extended sessions and fingertip feel,
yet with that type of pressure that feels C-like and more directional.
I don't have to look at this kite to know where it is.

I can feel the power.

Hi Rodeoclown,

Could you pls compare it to the 2012 9m Trigger?
Reactivity, Turning characteristics, feeling on the bar, drift in waves, jumping characteristics, depower

Thanks a lot :thumb:

This kite reacts more quickly IMO and feels slightly lighter at the bar.
It feels like a lighter faster stiffer kite with a compact geometry that relaunches faster.
Jumping feels more vertical, more like... you are going where you throw it,
so get ready for the g's and some excellent glide time.
A mid pivot kite like this can generate massive traction during a loop as well,
and the Unibar naturally encourages this by design.
This is not an on/off kite.
Sheeting range on the Unibar is clearly and smoothly defined by feel, for a more reactive power modulation.
That natural pull for power push for drift is felt in a way that inspires confidence to commit.
The 9m feels like it has a cleaner top end, more solid control, and the same grunty low end we love about this design.
For wave riding...we get storm waves here in puget sound, have not been to the coast yet.
The 9m turns rotored gusty into smooth and lovely.
The enlarged wing tip area really aids drift and allows precise tracking.
Even with the kite depowered and luff'd, you can snap it out of the drift and into a power stroke with finger tip pressure.
Pick your line and it will make it happen almost effortlessly.
The thinner frame lets it penetrate upwind with less effort,
letting you save that energy for the turns off the wind.

I encourage riders to put the 2013 trigger on a their demo list.
Its a sweet feeling to know what perfection feels like.

...another storm is due in a matter of hours.
Having one of these in the quiver makes for some sweet rides!

the winds came and I was able to snag a sunset session with the 9m.
2 other riders were re-rigging to 7's, it was cranking in the gusts!
The Trigger is so amazingly stable, the sheeting is perfectly matched by the Unibar
and depowers the kite to the pressure that feels most comfortable.
I could just crank it upwind across the chop until I found a set that looked carvable,
then whooosh...sweeping speed downwind and rock stable drift just made this sailor smile!
Best kite ever?
Hell Yes!
