do you use a powerlocking system?

Postby Toby » Mon Sep 12, 2005 10:46 pm

after a weekend of testing new gear and riding different bars, I can't understand how people can ride without a power locking system all the time?!!??!

First I can't do my board-offs etc and my arms start to hurt like crazy when the wind is less and I need to pull the bar tight.

How do you guys ride without it, I don't get it!

Therefore the poll to see if I'm alone out here!

I have
Recon 2, for my Contra 16.5
Liquid Force powerlock (long bar, longer lines) for 23.5 Conrta
used Recon 1 on Nitro
but I use
Naish shift and Slingshot Oneline bar
on my smaller kites.
Gonna replace Naish and Slingshot with
new '06 North bar because of the micro hook (Powerlock)
because I have tennis elbow symptons since I started using bars without
any powerlock system.
I can't use a fixed loop, because I use the Slingshot surefire spreader bar
(I like the safety of the releasable hook)
It has a little "donky dick" thing that catches the fixed loop.
Seems like people try it once, and can't get out real quick, so they freek out, and hate the system, not giving it a chance.

My perfect bar would be
Cabrinha power lock (Recon 2 type) with
5th lines like Naish Shift with
adjustable on the fly 5th line, like Slingshot Oneline
I hope the new North bar will be close.

IMO that does not count, or at least you don't use a locking system.

Fixed loop and my chicken-bone on the chicken loop is the correct length.

It allows me to double-hook but at the same time securely retains the chicken loop in the hook.

there is no need to use some form of powerlock unless you want to do deadmans or heart attacks

if you cant hold your bar when jumping you must have limp wrists

I need it for any jump with longer hang, in lighter winds and when being tired also for starting, jibing etc. Just saving energy.

Not strong enough to ride without? I don't want to be called 4-leg.... :coolshades:
