Entertaining discussion. My vote goes to C-kites.

Jason-ssr - I agree with what you are saying. One of these kites styles doesn't have to win. They are choices.

my vote goes to C-kite-types:

+ more fun within kiteloops
+ more fun doing unhooked moves
+ linear power releasement (not suddenly like all bow typed kites)
+ better bar feeling
+ you can let go off the bar without having a kitestall
+ direkt kite feeling (all bow kites use one or more pulleys)
+ C-kite-types dont get inverted

so why do i need bow kites then only to have a bit more power or compensate some gusts ?

Bows (aka Flat Kites) will all end up in the snow or on land with land boarders. Traditional "C" shape kites will dominate water for years to come.

My bet: Bows and "C-Bows" will invade the beaches in 2006 but won't gain market leadership before 2007... 8)

......a simple pole like this only get's the Scientologists who have found their God in Bows or the Baptists who dismiss 5th lines.. to respond to defend their emotional views.

There's a group of seekers in the middle who have found it is better to wait 'till the dust settles..

Fully agree, tested Crossbow 12 and Shockwave 9, but will stick to Raven 2 9-12-16!

Can you picture doing two things in one session ? riding water, then riding the airs.
I believe we still have a long way to go, and the only limitation is your mind.
It is not bow or C to me anymore, it is a matter of when the connection is going to be made.

unhooked and kiteloop - C's are the best kites. Until any other kite does that better, C's will remain top of market.

Someone was saying that foils this foils that and why foils didn't rule the market. Well... how about this : no pro's ride it, cause they don't kiteloop (cause there is no rigid structure), so if no pro rides it, why would the general public want to buy it?

People tend to follow any leader, either in politics or sports or whatever... if Hadlow, Lenten, etc don't use foils, nobody will (obviosly a few people will cause they tried them and it fits theyr kitesurfing style).

So about those foils coming back to rule the world - NO WAY. lol. don't believe that.

About Bows... well, i haven't had the time to understand how good they can become... but with some development, if they do the same things as the C's but even better... well, then they will have success. The way people kite today... Bows will only sell for wave people. freestylers will remain with C's for sure!

that's just my view anyway
