I liked this poll. By the way, does anyone recommend a waterproof system for cell-phones. I could see this as a good back-up if things go south and I needed to call someone. Or doing a down-winder and calling for pick up.. I'm sure someone has already come up with something here.

No, but I did crack through the ice when skating with a phone in my pocket. This phone didn't make it, after drying it showed something on the display for 1 second and after that never anything again.
And now my gps does almost the same: when I switch it on it goes blank after 1 second...

but I was lucky to have it inside a small slightly waterproof bag.

aquapacs are a little better for tucking into your wetsuit than pelicans:

they work great. as with all underwater seals a little silicon grease helps a bit...and make sure no sand
If you have a gps enabled cell phone it is fun to track your downwinder also

My instructor down at Miamikiteboarding has a waterproof phone. Its a Casio, not sure of the model number he used to wear it around his neck. worked pretty good.
