Grenadines or Barbados?

My buddy and I cannot decide between The Grenadines or Barbados for a kiting trip this January. We want a place that has the best wind of the two (I dont like kiting in offshore winds), great waves and flat water, and amazing beaches for our wives. If you've been to these spots, which one would you go to and why? Any help would be appreciated.
