My first time in the DOminican Republic and I wanna give Cabarete a try as I have some friends over there but in case I might not like it bc. of the crowds etc. does anyone know a place a little more laid-back and with just fewer people, more preserved?
Something like Venezuelas Adicora, where I would love to go again but the current afairs won't really allow to make for a smooth going over there
I heard about Samaná, the peninsular...any good? Windy of course

Check some spots on here
http://se.kiteforum.com/spots
Las terrenas is a cute village with some kiting, clear water, but less wind than Cabarete.
Also Punta Cana is beautiful! Again, less wind then Cabarete.
Good winds besides Cabarete are the spots close to the Haitian border...check spots at the link above.

Setup a trip to Buen Hombre to the west.
Playa Dorada near Puerto Plata is nice.
Encuentro is dominated by surfers but its kiteable id you can handle waves.
Las Terrenas tends to be light winds.
Punta Cana is a crapshoot windwise, takes alot of luck. People only ever mention it be ause its a huve tourist site and as such, if there is a lick of wind, there are kites in the water.
The SW can be interesting if conditions are correct.
