El Cuyo, Mexico Guide (Kiteboard) Feb-June

Postby ComeKiteWithUs » Mon Mar 13, 2017 6:21 pm

This little unknown spot in the Yucatan has some awesome wind from mid February to June, great fishing village with an authentic vibe and tasty food. We put out a guide to help kiters or non-kiters looking to explore off the beaten path in the Yucatan (2.5 hours from Cancun international airport). Another great spot for when La Ventana starts to die and El Cuyo starts to pick up. Also, Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Cancun begin to die during this timeframe.. So, if you are planning a trip to this area, keep this in mind.

We are now with 22 straight days with wind!!! Hope this helps any would be kiters looking for vacation and wind for these months. We typically ride 14-12m in the early mornings and jump to our 10-8m in the afternoon, when the thermals really begin to kick in.
