I was quoted R1800 (150 usd) for 4 hrs individual lesson in Langebaan, SA.
That's not bad at all.
That's what I'm looking for: ideas of countries I could visit that would be interesting to me and where the lessons are at a decent price.
Not like the Outer Banks, NC, let's say.

If you do decide on SA, try be here early in Feb (December to end Feb is best for wind). That's also when the King of Air event is. March starts to go quiet in terms of crowds and wind, so nice time to travel. Dirt cheap if you bring dollars.

I can support Poland as cheap lessons (one hour private costs 30 Euro)! But its not wind guarantee there... So you have to count that within one week you might be kiting only 3 days... More the season is short 1 June untill end of September. I am Polish in any case ask me for hints there.

Pascale, lessons on the OBX aren't $100/hour. Shop around. You can get weekday lessons on the OBX for $45/hour. If you're traveling for lessons and are cost-sensitive, you should consider not only the cost of the lessons, but also the cost of travel, lodging, food, etc. From Canada, you might want to look more closely at costs of the OBX compared to costs of South Africa, for example. Also, consider the learning conditions in locations you're considering. IMHO.

What about Vietnam? It`s really cheap. Actually the kiteschool "Africa" has price about 67$/hour for kite lessons! they also have the air compressor right on the beach, comfortable kite landing area with a little lawn, shower, beach assistants and another useful things. It`s a really large station with nice lounge chilling area and hammock! Like this place so much
If you need more information about the spot, check
