Wave riding July - August

Postby newold86 » Wed Apr 18, 2018 12:21 pm

Have done quite a bit of googling and friends asking, still can't decide...

Looking for a perfect wave/wind spot for a 10 days trip around July - August:

1. Time zone not too far from West USA - Hawaii
2. Nice waves - nothing too extreme, around 2m
3. Wind :)
4. Would be nice to have a high end accommodation
5. The budget is not a real issue

Thanks in advance for the recommendations !

P.S. Would go to Mauritius, but it's exactly opposite side of the planet :(

Maui (where I live part time, by the way) is not a good place for waves in a summer...

P.S. BTW, you are not allowed to kitesurf at Hookipa unless it’s an official event.

I don’t know to the west but going east I see;

Cabarete (it is the high season) in Dominican Rep
Brasil, Taiba or Paracuru (farther but worth it for more than 2 weeks)

the place you're looking for does not exist. Otherwise, I would be there. :)

Check out Mancora, Peru and the beaches south of there.

Waddell Creek? Kiteforum spot check says may-sept is ideal. Probably need to stay in Santa Cruz to get your high-end accommodations.
