Oh, I'd agree with that. You were hopefully told ahead of time;
"Hey, Jimmy's handle spacing is different than every other handle spacing. We'll give you these pimp Comp bindings, but the LF handle is rigid and won't flex so we have to redrill the hole. Cool?"

(actually, I think what happened is the the holes were meant to be standard, but they got f'd up in manufacturing which is why you got that one by mail, and all the correct ones got sold to customers who could verify it in the store. but that's just a guess....)
