There needs to be some easier way of sorting out the garbage from the good stuff.
A number of sites use a user moderation system where a number of users are chosen
each day or couple of days either randomly or based by the particpation in the site.
These moderators then allocate points to topics/posts as to how good or bad they are
for example:
relevence,
pimping,
trolling,
insight,
interest
The posts which are modded up get displayed promenantly. The posts which get modded down are not displayed unless the user decides to view every post which most people wont.
A good example is this tech site:
www.slashdot.com
I know the subjects are chosen by the site but the basic idea is sound.
Ok start trolling trolls you know who you are....

Apart of us talking BS, I am sure we do help beginners, travelers, and who ever needs some information.
