Am I the only person that thinks SUP is boring?

Postby Do-it » Wed Sep 10, 2014 9:05 pm

I just don't get it.... Is this for people who aren't coordinated enough to surf? Bad sense of balance? I guess if you were doing it strictly for exercise it might not be a bad deal, but taking it out in waves???? Why?

Why would you waist time paddling out through the white wash sitting and waiting then paddling into a wave when you can be pulled into it by a kite? isn't that gay? why ride a bicycle when god invented engines? surely it is gay to ride pushbikes!...

.....
..

Each to their own.

Supping is not my thing personally. But for others it makes sense.

Here's another thought for you. Say you want to ride waves in all the time. But you have a small shallow wave that you can't catch with a surfboard but you can catch it with a sup. Wouldn't you want a sub to enable you to ride that wave?

I think SUP is the worst thing of all time ever. Wouldn't want to blemish gay people with that :)

All of these look awful to me, and i belong in a similar category of never going near it (and just an fyi, i have tried them all a fair amount)

SUP
Kite-racing
Windsurfing
Crosscountry skiing
Waterskiing (as opposed to wakeboarding)
Rollerblading
Wakeskating (seriously I am super into wakestyle, but this looks dumb)
Hiking/Pogosticking/Hula Hooping

I cant imagine why anyone does any of these, but I am one person, who cares, there is plenty of ocean/nature to go around. Not trying to spread hate at all.

Im sure my style of riding looks silly to lots of others, but who cares. The whole point of these is they make YOU happy. Pay attention to your own thing...

OP says he doesnt like SUP. I dont like it either. Point I am trying to make plenty of examples of MASSES of people really enjoying activities that might not be dynamic/exciting or interesting to others, and thats totally fine. Plenty of good times to go around, do what makes you happy.

And the note about hiking, yes i think walking through nature is significantly more boring than riding through it on a board. Is it better than being at the office? Sure.
