Have a nice day.
I wasn’t being insensitive to you, I was trying to give others hope and joy. But whiners...
Really? Are you basing all this on Junebug's single post??

DWX,

get your facts right. Dimitri did not start in his 40ties and got on this level in 6 years.

This is a first fact you've missed, hence, it is a false info you are presenting here to the World.

I am 48 today. Yep, my birthday is on 30th.

If did not break a clavicle, would be free of kiting injuries for the last 7 years.

Riding Edges, semi aggresive, meaning 1-1.5hrs per sesh. I took me 7 years to learn 720 front roll and to jump 8m off flat water. With a downloop.

Doing 100 to 200 hours per year, only in shallows. Shallows are heaps more higher risk.

So, it is possible to get on some levels but only if one lives near water and never going out when more than 30kn.

Just like Toby, I love big kites.

Oh, what is a fitness? We are kiting to be fit.

Simple.

autodidact = a self-taught person. Just goes to show, even if you are too old to megaloop, you are never too old to learn a new word.

Age might be just a number in your head (it is in mine although I'm 70) but for your body it's a different matter. I have accumulated a nice collection of injuries such as smashed shoulder, knees, arms and ribs from racing motorcycles, broken legs and sprained ankles from windsurfing, remodelled knees from skiing, slipped disc from lifting stuff, and so on. Oh yes, and a skirmish with cancer. It all adds up. I just avoid doing shit that's certain to put me off the water. Married to a much younger nurse but when I hurt myself she gives me no sympathy. And rightly so, I make the calls and deal with whatever goes wrong.

This thread makes for an interesting read. In summary. As age and injury count, stacks up over the years recovery time increases and high risk activities become less appealing. The injury provoking activities appear to be wake style riding in boots and powered kite loops landed badly.
However there are other kiting style that can be focused on which still give a good thrill and perhaps have a better reward/risk ratio. Big wave kitesurfing, old fashioned boosting, foiling and storm riding tend to be where the focus for older dudes. These activities provide the thrills with a lower injury count.

Thinking my own injury count kiting. It's pretty low.
4 stitches in my forehead getting lofted into a fence post landboarding.
Whiplash from consecutive smack downs learning foil.
Stretched knee ligaments due to a boosting wipeout.
Compressed my spin a bit flying off a sand dune in the kite buggy.
Oh I did get some perminant hip wear doing a landboarding 24hr in a storm.
Other than that. Just scrapes and bruises.

All in all kiting has provided me with awesome thrills with very low injury count.

"Do you feel lucky today?".... Luck has nothing to do with it. We have to know our limitations, but we sometimes have to exceed them in order to have fun, even if we are over 60 or 70...
