Hey All!

I have an Oneill Psycho one z.e.n. zip 4/3mm full wetsuit* with 3mm hodie and shoes, I'm thinking if buy a 5/4mm wetsuit for water temperature around 57°F (14°C) of North Sardinia in this month and probably the next 2 month

I really need it or can I stay with the 4/3?

Thank you
and Best!

Difficult matter. It is very personally/individually. Normally, in sunny day should not be any problem with 4/3 wetsuit at 14C for anyone. Know guys who ride in 5/4 at 5C without problem.
I would stay with 4/3. To be on a safe side take old jacket.

Cheaper solution would be to get some under layers like this for example: https://www.prolimit.com/product/innersystem-monoshort/
Adds warmth and does not restrict your mobility really.

You can also add a windbreaker jacket.

57F is shorty for me and 5/4 for others. Everyone is different. Until you face that temp you don't know.

I recently had my 4/3 Psychofreak out in 6C water and 5C air temperature with mitts, neoprevne flotation vest and toque (beanie). I was toasty, but I generally stay pretty close to shore in the event I have to make the swim. If I was foiling I spent way more time in the water because I suck so I would have wanted something warmer.

thats our regular coast water temp here in the SF bay area. 4/3 is what everyone has. Hood for the winter is a great addition. You will be fine. I have a psycho 4/3 myself in 3rd generation as they last forever. I also use if for surfing (fully immersed) without a problem.

Depends totally on the air temp/climate

Full 3/2 for me. If air temps are cold too I’d take a windbreaker jacket over the 3/2.
4/3 wetsuit is for 45 degrees

Haha that is just under our summer temp ;-) Watertemp is 2-3 degree Celsius atm according to our Meteorologic Centrum, air temp about the same and wind the windchill it feels like below zero. Kiting with a high end Mystic 5/3. Not been cold for a sec so far. So i would say 3/2 with maybe a windstopper if the wind is cold.

It depends more on the air temperature than the water temperature (up to a point). As kiters, we don't spend a lot of time in the water.
