Anyone using the same board for kite and surf foiling?
I just got a new surf foil and have been debating adding tracks to an old surfboard or getting a board like the Liquid Force Galaxy for both kiting and surfing.
Anyone riding the Liquid Force Galaxy?
I normally surf (no foil) on boards with 26L to 27L.

I saw a galaxy live the other day. Has quite big reverse beveled rails. Wonder how that works on waves....

I do both but with different boards, high volume 5'4" custom board for surfing and very thin low volume 4' board for kiting.
Surf is going to be 35+ liters volume, which is weird for kiting although you could easily use it.
Kite-foiling is best with a solid board kind of like a skimboard with a foil mounted to it (which I have done and is great).
For surf foiling you want a lot of volume to catch tiny waves early, this is basically impossible with a smaller board unless you have really perfect conditions (ie. waikiki, malibu, -type long period rollers) and even then you need a lot of skill and practice.

I'm pretty sure the galaxy board is foil only there is no place to put Surf fins on it.

Sorry for the confusion. I'm trying to figure out how big of a board I need for surf foiling.
Would be great to have a single board for kite foiling and surf foiling but sounds like you need a decent amount of volume for surf foiling.

Yea, if you want to be proficient at both, you will need 2 different boards.

Not surf foiling but i do use the F-One 5.8 Mitu convertible as a kite (in waves) and kitefoil board.
It has a foil box where you can attach the foil.
Not sure though as how this would work in surf foiling, i guess a bigger board would be needed

You can have both in one board unless for some reason you don’t like kite foiling with 35 liters. Most kite race foil boards are about 35 liters.
I ride a 35 liter board that was designed for both.
BTW, you’ll out perform any off the shelf converted surfboard, with a surf foil board designed for foiling.

This guy has the same board I ride.

I apologise, misinterpreted the post. You want to kite foil and prone paddle surf a foil. I thought you meant kite foiling and kite wave riding

I got a 5.6 tomo vanguard with intentions of putting in tracks for combo board....surfboard, surf foil, kite foil, kite surfboard. It is just barely big enough to surf but short enough to be fun kitesurf too. A combo board is great for travel. I already have that for kite foil and kite surf.....bws 5.8 with through hulls punched in. Works great.
I am going to wait to get proficient sup foiling then see if I want to prone surf foil.
