but for real you can get those pumps for $7 on amazon right now
Got a link to those? I searched amazon but could only find regular prices
I can't find the one I was looking at the other day that was that cheap, but here's the one I've been using for the last 2 years, it's $15

Just poke a hole in the base and use your old pump's leash.
They usually last me 6-12 months and the shaft snaps. I've been lucky with my current one that it's lasted 2 years. Either way, buying cheap ones that are 99% as good as the expensive ones and treating them as a consumable is way easier for me, and you don't feel as bad about chucking them around on the beach.

Grabbed a cheap "Airhead" from chinamart a couple years ago in a pumpless moment. Anyone else think we pay a big price for the decals?

absolutely - i got my last airhead from chinamart for $9 on sale and it has the switch to go from dual-action to single-action for those last few pumps, if you really want it. the kite-branded ones don't have that and cost $40-60 more for the exact same pump

I think it gets even better. See if you can remove the plastic shaft once it breaks. Replace with aluminum shaft from other broken/non functioning pump or get a piece, its 28mm. ( 1 1/8 in.) outside diameter aluminum tubing from metal supply. Its very common
