I cut a hole in my CNC machine

Postby SaulOhio » Sun Jun 17, 2018 7:02 pm

I did a bit of an upgrade so I can drill and tap straight holes in the masts I build.

First I had to build an elevated, super-flat table for the entire machine.

Then I cut a hole in the waste board.Screwed some clamps into
place to hole the top of the mast.

Then underneath I added another board with a similar hole and clamps.

Now I can use my CNC machine to drill holes. The router bit I use isn't quite long enough, but its good enough for pilot holes I finish by hand.

And I can use a laser to align everything just right with the
clamps.

Oh. That. Yeah. Happened when I was still a beginner.

Nice.

I'm going to waterjet my next board and mold out... oh yeah. Why. Because I can!
