I think it’s pretty cool that people are free to criticize an American president again. A few years ago anyone who dared to criticize our president was called either a racist or an Uncle Tom. Today, the very people who wouldn’t allow anyone to criticize our last president are the first ones to criticize the current one.

Lovely stuff.
I think you'll find that people are, and have always been, free to criticize any president, including the current one and the preceding one. In fact, the person most actively criticizing the preceding one is the current one. There hasn't been any change in our right or freedom to criticize our presidents. The change that HAS occurred (largely introduced and encouraged by the current president) is the deep divide and lack of diplomacy and civility within the US today. IMHO, there is nothing "cool" about that.

All I know is that I have a huge trade deficit with my local kite store. They never bought anything from me ;-)

Yeah you have to wonder with so much equipment being made in China that something has to give.

I was just told that one of my outboard motor suppliers that is made in China is getting a 10% price incrase effective as of August 1st. That's substantial....and it will hurt our company for sure. I'm more concerned with the prices of raw materials getting out of hand (more so than now) like timber, steel and aluminum. That will have some serious economic repercussions.

CrazyFly's move to all EU constructed kites/boards could prove to be brilliant in the very near future.
Ozone is just fine with their factory in Sri Lanka, thank you very much.
Oh cool.........the OTHER oppressive, unregulated, child labor manufacturing country. Got it.
Thanks for clarifying.
Very similar to EU.

......Trump’s plan is to empower smaller companies like kite companies that are run more like a family business than big draconian global corporations.

It’s GOOD NEWS! Not war news 🙄
????? Tell that to America's small farmers.

No one knows how these things will play out. But "consensus" (longest curse word I know) thinking seems to seldom have the whole picture. And when you throw politics in with that 9 letter word, you are guaranteed to be steered away from the truth.

Kite prices could be affected. Or, they may not. And China is not the only country of origin for kites.

As far as the other aspects of the economy that will have a "chain reaction" effect leading to kite price increases - do you think China is going to put a tariff on it's food imports, causing those that export food to China to sell to other markets? This is in line with the sanitized word "sanctions" that the UN uses for "starving a people so that they kill their leader and install a new leader who goes along with the wishes of the UN". Only in this particular case, the Chinese leadership would be setting up the coup to over throw themselves.

Farm commodity prices could be targeted, though it is a bluff, and very much unsustainable in the long term. And every one party to the situation knows this, making it a very bad tactic in negotiations.

Kites will not be part of it. It's not about textiles, toys or even sporting equipment. It's about technology theft and the fact that we can't even get decent access for our agriculture products.

What a stupid video, China didn't take any jobs, America gave them up to them. It was part of the Reagan puppet era of destroying the Soviet union. Raise China up to help support America in an increasingly costly arms race that crippled the oppositions Economy. Now China plays the same game against America, tease Military expansion and advance to cause the opposition to actually over balance in that direction. Who has many 100's of overseas bases again? and who dredged an island or 2 in the middle of nowhere? lol.

Want to know the real issue America has with China? It's not a capitalist nation. The few that use capital to control America can't do much in China. The Chinese government holds absolute power above capital. Debts, loans, bribes none of it can effect it. Chinese government controls the money, the American side no, it's why Apple can hoard a trillion overseas. Capital controls America, not China.

As to the average American hoping things will get better with only America putting tariffs on China, well they won't. Trade will just move to other nations, and costs for Americans will go up. Now if an alliance of Nations put tariffs on China, it's what we call sanctions, that would work. But sanctions are the first act of war, I doubt China would take that lying down, I also highly doubt many other nations would sanction China. China has not acted even slightly as aggressively as America. America has invaded and committed Genocide to China's surround nations and even been part to atrocious crimes or war inside China. China has been so far the greatest miracle in human history raising more people to prosperity than ever before. It's trade benefits more nations than any other.

The problems of America are self wrought. Inequality will continue to worsen. The causes of which are as old as time, greed of a few. There are a few choices, war, revolution, political change and continued expansion. What the elite need to realize is the first two are inevitable unless some improvements are made. The last two are the best hope. Expansion is truly the sanist solution. This planet can support a lot more people. There is many other planets in this solar system, other solar systems in the galaxy and all the space and things in between.
