I'm considering buying a Wainman Hawaii Boss 12m and am lookin a review by owners. I'm a big guy at 220lbs and im looking for a kite with good low end. I've read there pretty grunty. What are the pros and cons of this kite and brand? I'm still a pretty new kiter and have been using a 2010 Cabrinah Switchblade. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hello, If you are still a beginner/intermediate, you'll be fine with this kite, however maybe consider to buy a Big Mama 15m if you're looking into great low-end. My friends who teach with it say it's great even in boarder-wind 11-12 knts. But very slow.

I have a 2010 Boss and I'm 40lbs lighter than you. Kite is great for a beginner I learned to kite on mine and was lucky to buy such a great kite to learn with. The low end is amazing on it. I can ride it as long as it does not drop below 10kts with my skim board. The high end I find a little disappointing but your larger than so you could get probably 15-30kts where I was getting a range of 10-20. I have had it out in 30kts doing downwinders where the wind picked up while on the water and was able to keep it under control.

From my experience:
Pros:
Jumps high
Great low end
Great in the surf (wave riding drifts really well)
Good wake-style/freestyle
Loops very well

Cons:
Poor high end ( I use it as a light wind kite )
Jumps are not floaty ( not a big deal as I ride wake-style )
De-laminating valves ( I do live and ride in Houston Tx so it gets hot in our prime season )
