Train to Algeciras and then jump on a bus or hire a car pretty cheap after the summer (but beware of hidden costs!)

As regards kiteschools what are you looking for? Someone on the water with you or just supervision from the beach?

A car is handy when you are down there...So many schools, just walk around the town.

Not sure about coming from Madrid, but Gibraltar is by far the best place to fly into if you have a choice. Definitely rent a car from whoever you fly into. You really need a car in tarifa and it's cheap to rent.

With the bullet train its a pretty quick trip? Are there hourly trips? Is it better to rent a car once I'm there or just take taxis around town? Which month would be the best for smaller crowds and good wind april, may,June,July? I would like to do some intense intermediate training with a instructor or school while I'm there. Any suggestions? Thank you everyone

I remember taxis being really hard to find when you needed them especially in the busy months. And if you are on the beach you are not going to get one. May will be the best time for the crowds and the wind should be good.
