I highly rate this board. Both my kiting buddies have one and I am seriously contemplating getting one as well, but my wife may actually kill me. I love it.

I have the 2012 Nugget, love it and ride it often - whenever the wind is light, in small waves, and in flood tide conditions here in the Bay. The only thing I'd really change is I'd make it about 4" longer, with some nose rocker. Wouldn't really change how it rides, but that would make it a little more friendly in the waves. One real problem, however, is the bamboo construction, especially on the deck. Overall the skin of the board is very brittle, and the bamboo is cracking at the angles where the grab rail comes into the deck, allowing water to enter. I think this is a consistent problem with these boards... Anyone else?
BWD: which firewire? link? thx

is what I was thinking, but it has a molded in grab rail and totally blunt nose, so I was wrong I guess.
Overall shape is very similar though.
Could be a very close relative. Thought I read something to that effect last year maybe??

The sweet potato looks like a very similar shape and many choices on sizes.

Firewire people should be idiot !.
They made the original board more than a year ago, before north cames out with a copy ,and they still doesn't come with just a reinforced deck version (no inserts needed) for kiting ??.
The Sweet Potato was the most voted board when Firewire asked on a thread on this forum which should be or should like to see the next board in the FW kite line...

Well we will see what happens.
Already fw offers custom size/shaping on some models.
If they also add an option for reinforced deck or heavy glass, that would be nice.
