Kite sizes SA

Postby balkie » Wed Jan 09, 2013 8:09 pm

Hello everyone,

From August until february I will be going to Cape town, South Africa to do an interniship. I will be staying in Blouberg for 5 months and i am going on a tour through SA for 1 month. Currently i have a 2011 Naish park 9m and i want to buy two more kites one for lighter winds and one for stronger winds. Now i am not sure if I should buy a 6m and a12m or a 7m and a 11m. I weigh 66 kg (145 Lbs)and ride the 2011 Naish Momentum 132 . I think I will stick with the Naish Park but now the 2012 or 2013 model. Is it worth spending a little more and take the 2013 model?

Also any tips on what to do/where to go around Cape Town are appreciated. :D

grtz Balkie

6 9 12
year probably not important
cape pt, good hope, table mountain apostles etc
stellenbosch etc. (wine)
months and months ? get up and down the coast, garden route, etc.
If you don't surf, learn!

and always carry a pocket full of biltong when out walking in the bush after dark
...or not
lucky bastard!

Hi Balkie,
with 66 kg get a 6m.
If you want to get into wavekiting you should even consider a 5m.
But if you get a 5m you need to exchange your 9m into a 7m or 8m...
