Kitesurfing near Bangkok - Hua Hin or Pranburi?

Postby Kitemare123 » Tue Jan 15, 2013 4:11 am

Hi there,

Im in Bangkok at the moment, and the appears to be some NE wind forecast for Friday and Saturday in Hua Hin and Pranburi. I have never been to either place.

Im looking for flat water if possible and better wind. Which spot is better?

Thanks!

Either - they're pretty close to each other. IMO both have the same amount of wind and waves. Pranburi, when I was there, had no swimmers and few jet skis... I'd go back there first.

Wind is the same.
Besides high tide you will find flatter water in Pranburi.
Also at the piers.

Pranburi is quiet and relaxed, Hua Hin has the nightlife, restaurants, markets etc.

Your call.

Good winds!

I would go to Hua Hin and bring your golf clubs. If there is wind, rent a kite. You will be happier this way.

HH has a strong Swedish and retirement community (few Russians). There are plenty of not so attractive B list girly bars on Soi Binthabaht if you are into mongering.
