this is the # of second hand kites on sale on a very popular kite-portal in italy:
1. North: 209
2. Slingshot: 138
3. RRD: 120
4. Best: 110
4. Naish: 85
5. Ozone: 72
then FOne and Cabrinha
as of quality, this comes to personal opinions

Does this mean there are more North and slingshot kiters who want to replace their kites to another brand?
Or updating...
Here, there used to be mostly Cab, then Naish and North. Now 3 or 4 of the Cab users have gone to Slingshot.
I've only ever seen one Blade here, and except for the days of racing (Edges) we hardly ever see Ozone.

I was able to get some inside info. and for the top 3 you are right on.
North sells by far the most kites, then Cab and Fone.
from 4th to 7th there isn't that much difference.
If the OP ment ranking by quality then North didn't have even 0.1% of claims.
I ride Fone and xenon quality and reliability are very good.

I would love to know the top seven or ten brands in sales.
The actual numbers would be fun to know.
Please spill the beans on the rest of your seven!

What you see in the classifieds section doesn't really say much other then what people are getting rid of. Not really a good representation of whats popular.
As far as what you see in the sky and at your local beaches. This is entirely dependent on what your local shops carry who is distributed in your area and if you are just a local scene or if your local spot is also an international destination.

From what I see at the few spots I ride:
30% cabrinha
30% best
10% liquid force
5% slingshot
5% north
5% other

It all depende about local marketing and what kites you can get at that spot.
In Baja ( La Ventana ) I would say North is having around 75 %. They is a huge selection of north kites to buy there so it makes a different.

Cumbuco/Brazil
Most kites in the skies: Cabrinha and North
Airush, Best, F-One, Naish, Nobile, Ozone, RRD and SS share their presence equally (because of the international clientele we have here).
Oh, and then there is one Epic kite in the air (when the wind exceeds 20knots).
Cheers

around here a little bit of everything between the most well known brands - RRD, North, SS, etc, -highly linked with the kite brand the nearest school is using
in second hand market those that tend to be sold faster and for the higher bid seem to be North (Rebel), SS (RPMs) with F1 not far behind. no data, just my perception
