Update-beaches cleaner after plastic bag ban in Seattle?

Yes!
They really are.
I urge others in cities where a plastic bag ban is offered to support it.
Watching a checker fill your sandy kite bag with beer and chips is worth it!

How does the ban work?

Shops cannot gove any more plastic bags to consumers?

If so, great!

Thats right, the city banned the use of plastic bags by businesses.
You can buy paper bags or bring your own.
I never remember to put those things in my car,
but I seem to always have my quiver with me.

Seriously though.
I used to see plastic bags on the beach every time I had a session.
A year after the ban, most of the time I don't see any at all.
They are mostly gone from not only the shoreline, but from the cityscape as well.
Its better and worth the effort for the waters we love.

Yes, there is still some garbage.
Marijuana is legal here now if you haven't heard,
so its mostly people who are too high to know that they even left garbage behind. :nono:

Aloha

To clean up our beaches, please ban PET bottles, instant ramen, baseballs, fish, tennis balls, women's shoes, car tires... but primarily bamboo and trees.
