From what I've read before, I would trust your reports on the Cloud.
The two wind readings I am most interested in is the wind where it will sit directly overhead without working it and the minimum relaunch wind.
I have found both are the same for my 13m Xbow.

The overhead one is one where it would be very easy to compare kites side by side. It could even be done on a beach and the two kiters could walk upwind or downwind to give an idea of what difference in windspeed was necessary to keep the two kites overhead.

For the relaunch, is it a normal relaunch by pumping two offset rear lines and then launching the kite off its side or have you tried rolling it over into the hot launch position and pumping it into the air?

This is what I would call a normal light wind relaunch, although it would be better done with a large twintip on your feet.
Sorry, I was waiting for the wind if I could give more testing report,
but no wind no success :duh:
The relaunch was normal and quick through the one of the rear line launching on its side,
just like on the video.
I didn't try hot launch on the trailing edge or reverse launch,
because I was interested riding the kite more than relaunching aspect.

The good news is that at the end of half an hour test,
I had a couple of gusts 12 - 13 mph and pulled like a truck,
appears to be with a higher bar pressure than my Speed3 Foil kites :?:

One of my friend will continue the test next week when the wind will become favorable.
He is a creditable good test flyer who lofted a 100 feet, flown over the highway
meanwhile he was able to redirect the kite and landing safely at a beach #4 picture from top HERE!

DrLW
I'm happy to wait until the right conditions and time available coincide. :thumb:

Its when you want light steady wind - that it doesn't turn up.

Thanks for the feedback.

Hi guys

Just finished my first session with my 13m Cloud on the snow.....a wonderful experience!
Wind was less than 10knts for most of the day, snow was really fresh and deep for Southern Ontario due to the recent storm.....

Elmhirst's Resort on Rice Lake was the location, a few guys and one lady out kiting today.
Sunshine was fantastic, and it was a balmy -5c......

The Cloud performed flawlessly in all respects, light on the bar which I like, short depower stroke, more like on/off in about 6" of bar travel. Turns are unreal, very responsive but not twitchy at all.
Nose down relaunch was no problem, just rolled over and waited for my next bar input. Hot-launch from trailing edge down was very controllable, no issues at all. Felt verymuch like my OR Rises, but much livlier on the end of the lines if that makes sense to you?

All in all a great kite, and Greg should be very proud of the design.

Why do you say that? I cannot see any fluttering in the video. There are no close shots of the canopy so how can you tell if it is fluttering or not? (apart from a very brief shot of the kite in some guy's hand).

Not positionned on the same "segment" as the AIRUSH Lithium Zero 18sqm,
the NAISH strutless kite should be called "The Trip". One size only in 10m ( to begin with ? )
Designed for travellers, hence the name, with weight and volume savings in mind and as selling points, once packed should not be larger than 2 pairs of jeans.
Announced as a fast & multi purpose / versatile kite.
Available late March, beg April in shops.

Those strutless kites = an ideal complement of a foldable twin tip.

Greg:
- you've definitely given a kick in the anthill :D
- shouldn't the post title be now "Strutless kites in development on Maui"

now the kite packs smaller than the pump

so - any advice on a small, low-bulk, lightweight yet powerful pump ?

No advice but a kite manufacturer stating "Our design is so successfull that for travel purpose, our kite can be rolled inside the body of its dedicated pump" :jump:  ...

... would receive all my gratitude .. providing it is a grease-free pump of course ... :D :D
