Conditions at Dillon Reservoir

Postby btjsfca » Tue Feb 12, 2013 9:24 pm

Hey, Colorado kiters. I'm going to Breckenridge in a week or so and looking to kite. Need some info from anyone from around those parts. Just a few questions...

Is Lake Dillon set up and good? Are the ice and snow conditions rideable? What's the wind like up there? Which are the good wind directions and launches for each direction? Are there alternative sites within reasonable distance in the event of a skunk?

That's a barrage of questions, I know, but any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Yeah, saw that, but didn't look at their facebook page which is much better for current conditions.

Still looking for the low down on other kiting spots in the area, though.

Thanks for any help.

I have found that the best way to get a report on ice conditions is to call the local bait shops.

It is in great shape. seems like people are out every day. good hardpack snow last time I was out.
I'm less sure about the south end.. I've been mostly around the dam this year.
