HO CHI MIN/TAMPA, February 18, 2013: Being one of the 5 KB4girls Chapters to win the 2012 Chapter Challenge, the KB4girls Chapter in Mui Ne / Vietnam hosted the first KB4girls GLOBAL event of the 2013 season this past weekend. Mui Ne is a favorite for kiteboarders for its strong sea breezes as well as a noted beach destination for the region.

A total of 29 female kiters from Russia, Germany, Australia, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Holland, the USA, Belgium, China as well as the host country Vietnam gathered together to celebrate a weekend of female kiting and community.

Directed and coached by KB4girls founder and 9x World Champion Kristin Boese and KB4girls Mui Ne Chapter Ambassador Liz Kaiser, the girls embarked on a 12 kilometer downwinder on day one as well as on an excursion to Ke Ga on the second day of the event. With a great vibe and lots of motivation all female participants showed their full commitment to face new challenges and learn new tricks and skills.

Congratulations go to Phan Thi Thuy Trang, Jessica Weiss and Lucy Graham for successfully finishing their first ever downwinder and to Polina Lunina and Isa Cohen for being chosen the most inspirational participants.

The event closed with a Charity BBQ at Kinn house to help cover the travel expenses for local kite hero Long to compete on the KTA (Kite Tour Asia) and an after party hosted by Sankara. Happy to have been able to support his journey, the KB4girls participants wish Long all the best and good luck for the upcoming KTA event in Indonesia.

A very special thanks goes to host kite center C2Sky (http://www.c2skykitecenter.com) for taking incredible good care of the participating females, their safety, transportation and much more. A huge thanks also goes out to Kinn House, Sankara and local chapter ambassador Liz Kaiser, co-host Jeff Newell, photographers Olga Ivanova and Anny Barlow as well as videographer Sascha Ivanova.

The KB4girls foundation is supported by Best Kiteboarding, DaKine, Tramontana Grafixx, Sportsfeatures.com and Baby-G and strongly encourages other brands to support their cause to empower females through the sport of kiteboarding.

The 2013 KB4girls GLOBAL events will be held:
February 15 to 16, 2013 - Mui Ne, Vietnam
June 5 to 6, 2013 - Eilat, Israel
August 17 to 18, 2013 - Lancing, UK
August 24 to 25, 2013 - Cabarete, Dominican Republic
