My Weekly Dose of Sage (Basin)

Postby Noahpz » Fri Mar 08, 2013 7:45 am

It was another solo session in Sage Basin today. I had the basin all to myself so if there was a track, it was mine. Eight to 12 inches of fresh on top of a strong base made boondockin’ easy.

I spent the first half of the day flicking my sled around and after 30+ miles of petro-fueled fun I decided to go kiting. Threw up my 12m Summit and sessioned the pow in a few areas of the Basin before I headed back to Wapati. I got in a second short session on the hills above Wapati and then headed to the Cinnamon Lodge. Finished off my day with whiskey and bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers. Mmmmmm….

If you were out there alone, how did you get those spectacular pictures?

My son gave me a GoPro camera. I set it on the timer setting. It shoots two photos per second. I mount the camera on a monopod and stick it in the snow. I also move it around to get the best images. Later, I cherry pick the best photos and delete the rest.

:thumb: Bad ass Noah. Love the big adventure with the awesome terrain and great snow solo and incredible pics to boot. Here is my solo trip into the Sinks of Gandy in Wva. yesterday. Not as wild as your day but real special to me. Winter is gonna wind down here soon but it has been rockin' for the past month. JR

Lucky you. You live close to such great snowkiting locations AND the home of warp drive! Say "Hi" to Zephram Cochran for me.
