O Will stay in Teresina for a few months from august till october And iam looking forward to go kiting
The thing is that i Will not carry my quiver with me from spain and was thinking about renting it.
Anyone can give some advice on getting to the closest beach?. And where to rent the equipment?.
I was thinking about renting a car and go the weekends to Taiba, is it far from Teresina?

Sorry to give you bad news but Teresina is inland about 8 hour drive away from the kite spots (either Barra Grande or Cumbuco). Since driving at night in Brazil is really sketchy the only way to do weekend trips would be flying. But even then you would need transportation from the airport to the spots (not cheap). As for gear I don't know of anyone renting it in Brasil.
My recommendation would be to take couple weeks after or before your time in Teresina and go kite around Fortaleza or Barra Grande/Jericoacoara etc...

I see there is a large river runs through and past the town, looks about 300m wide with flat surounding terrain - may be some options there

I bought a house in Piauí last year for kitesurfing (coqueiro beach). In my opinion, this is one of the best places i've ever kited in the world.
The Piauí shore is a 4,5 hours distance by car from Teresina. If you want to go to Barra Grande it will take you a little less than 5,5 hours.
I can give you the number of a kite school in Piauí, they will probably help you to rent the equipment. If you want, I can give also advice on the best kite hotels/pousadas in the region.
Hope you enjoy kiting in Piauí.
